Why This Book

Image
A graphic that works on many levels, from the micro to the macro. You’ll see. Or you won’t. Women are becoming men. Men are becoming women. I’ve been on this story for close to thirty years. I wrote a book called The Naked Woman which explored the subject from a male perspective. Now I’ve grown old, which — regardless of Viagra and other lies men tell themselves about themselves — is a feminizing experience. Simultaneously, women who are growing old become more masculine with every passing year. That’s an inherent trend of our species. It’s also a mirror trend reflected in the culture at large, one we’re seeing enacted on a global scale. Time to look at it from a female perspective? You bet. The female mind. Call it the Undiscovered Country. But I’ve been exploring it from the inside for a change. It’s different. Not good. Not bad. Just different. And absolutely necessary. When you quit the male viewpoint, you start to see a kind of sense that makes sense of the great human consciousne

Things you don’t know

What am I up to here? Satire? No. I’m talking for real here. I was once hyper-male. Now I reached the tipping point. My mind had become female. For real. This is going to be a book. And you’re all going to buy it. Cool. What’s different? Let’s get rid of the satire idea forthwith. Never much liked Oscar Wilde. But always knew how good he was. Ugly man. Reliably reported? Horse teeth. No, not satire. I’m going to keep pursuing truth. Not a popular idea these days.

Time

Time The biggest difference between the sexes.  Why we can’t communicate successfully. I went through a dying process. Trump lost. The Republic died. When I started abandoning the male perspective. I used to be in the prediction business. Seeing where our present decisions would take us in the future. I was frequently right. For fifty years. What you miss is that you’re never in the present, never in the here and now. Where women live. Exclusively.  Why men drink more than women. Lots more. Booze and drugs are the only way men get to experience the here and now. Or they can vegetate. Women don’t vegetate. They are busy instead. They bake. They cook. They do laundry. They take care of kids and men and seniors. They watch soap opera. They are here and now and expect to be taken care of in return. I am vegetating. Bad news. I have leaned into the female mind. I can’t write anymore.
